Twitter traffic experiencing quite the rush

There’s no doubt that Twitter has experienced massive growth in the past year, growing 752 percent in 2008, with a total of more than 4.43 million unique visitors according to Compete. Twitter users range from teens, adults and businesses to celebrities updating their own status. Twitter has not only become a creative blueprint for business’ online marketing campaigns, it has also become a site for breaking news. There’s no telling what new trends the online community will continue to see, but one thing’s for sure, social networking sites such as Twitter are growing rapidly and making quite a splash. ‘Project Retweet’ soon to be launched on Twitter

Twitter plans to formally create a retweet feature for users’ profiles. Retweeting is how Twitter users share interesting tweets from the people they are following. They copy and paste the original tweet and send it out. To give credit to the original person, users usually put “RT” plus the originator’s username at the beginning of the tweet. Retweeting has become an important way for followers to link to one another and gain a wider audience. Retweets began as a user-generated feature, and Twitter now plans to add tabs to users’ profiles displaying retweets by others, retweets by you and your tweets, retweeted. New terms of service prompts Twitter users to advertise brands

Twitter is a great viral-marketing tool that can quickly spread awareness of your business, its products, and its services. Twitter has found a way to make money and open the door for advertisers by targeting its millions of users. Twitter hopes to bring businesses and individuals together in meaningful and relevant ways as a third-party provider. Social media is attracting interest and growing rapidly, and advertising is a way for websites to generate revenue while remaining free for consumers. The entire concept of Twitter is so specific and the discussion is so user-controlled that it should almost be a gift for advertisers. The new terms of service may include advertisements, which may be targeted to the content or information on the services, queries made through the services, or other information.
